This fall, Technica returns for its 12th year! Organized by students from the University of Maryland, our annual hackathon for underrepresented genders in tech has been the largest of its kind in the world for over a decade, welcoming 1200+ participants from 15 countries and 4 continents last year.
In 2021, Technica became the first hackathon to implement a hybrid event model, hosted both in-person and virtually. Over 24 hours, Technica gives participants the opportunity to build new applications, websites, and hardware projects, bringing together some of the brightest thinkers in the country to collaborate and share their ideas.

Technica 2026 will be hosted as a hybrid hackathon providing an in-person and virtual (online) experience for hackers to participate in.
